    Set during the Republican era, the story tells of a young girl by the name of Du Chun Xiao. A smart young girl who uses her strange but unique ability to deduct clues and solve mysteries through the use of tarot cards. However, one day she decides to return to Jiangnan with her friend Huang Meng Ching. As the Huang family accepts Chun Xiao as one of their own Mr Huang proposesthe idea of marriage between his son Mo Ru, and Chun Xiao.
    Though she is not particularly attracted to Mo Ru, she continues to live with the Huang’s until strange things begin to occur, that endanger her life. It is during her difficult times, that she notices Huang Mu Yun, the youngest son of the Huang’s. As the two discover their feelings for each other, secrets regarding Chun Xiao’s true identity, as well as the darker nature of Mr Huang’s past deeds are unraveled.

    The Chronicles of Town Called Jian 茧镇奇缘 is a 40-episode Chinese drama based on the novel Tarot Female Detective written by Zhang Ran Ran (also known as An Di Yao Rao 暗地妖娆). It tells a story that revolves around the mysteries surrounding the Huang Family.

    Victoria Song (A Life Time Love) takes the lead as the female protagonist who relies on her investigative skills to uncover secrets of the past that ultimately lead to the truth behind her own identity. Jiang Jin Fu (Legend of Qin), Zhang Zhi Xi (Three Heroes and Five Gallants) and Yang Yang (Martial Universe) complete the cast as the members of the Huang Family.

    Set during the Republican era, Huang Tian Ming (Jiang Tong) who is the patriarch of the family welcomes his 60th birthday. His eldest daughter (Zhang Zhi Xi) and her friend Du Chun Xiao (Victoria Song) both return from studying abroad. Master Huang is uncharacteristically interested in Chun Xiao as he not only asks her to stay but also arranges for her to marry his eldest son Huang Mo Ru (Yang Yang). At the same time, she starts getting close with Huang Mu Yun (Jiang Jin Fu), the second son of the family all while unsettling circumstances start occurring.
